Forgotten

No I haven't forgotten about you, I have just decided not to post anything. I've decided that I will do better by only posting short bits. I get too bogged down trying to think of more than a paragraph, and no one really reads this.

Todays Topic:
When did the back of vehicles become the new refrigerator door of our society?

Please see that you limit the amount of "flair" to two pieces.

Society isn't interested in your kids school, band instrument, name, age, how many kids you have, where you like to vacation, you family genealogy, your child's summer camp, honor roll status, boy scout troop, your favorite band, girl scout troop, what church you attend, the fact that you sell avon, Mary Kay, vitamins, your college alumni, the motorcycle you ride, what kind of air cleaner is in your car, your status at the shriner lodge, or that you would rather be flying or playing golf.

Catch Up

So, the past couple of days have been busy, with more fun activities! Saturday and Sunday the weather was great and I was busy at home working on things in the house.

Saturday bike ride was a good one. 10 miles of bumps in the road and no soreness. When I got home I played with the dog and then I jumped on my Harley for a short ride before lunch. My allergies where kickin though and riding a Harley and sneezing doesn't make for a good match.

Sunday was probably the best bike ride I have had since I started riding. I was able to go 12 miles and really wasn't tired. The mistake I made was that I forgot to bring my water bottle. Dang. My mouth felt like sandpaper. Remember 225 lbs. in spandex with no money makes it hard to get free water. So, I toughed it out and came on home. Speaking of me on a bike, I've decided that I look like a Clydesdale on my little seat.

Last night Al and I went to see the 'boys play. Not a lot to say except that I wish I lived in the stadium. I will cry, like a kid being dropped off at Kindergarten on the first day, if Allison ever loses her tickets. I will probably quit watching the Cowboys due to the chronic depression and nausea that will set in from the catastrophic loss.

Cowboys win. Thank goodness, the local media will have to find something have to discuss.

See ya.

Hello

Hello Blog: So, as promised I went out in the cold this morning in what felt like no clothing at all. Spandex and a helmet is no way to go in the 60 degree weather. The ride started off good with my little lights bouncing through the darkness and me trying to warm up my body. I was still a little sore from the day before but nothing too terrible.

No accidents or scares today and I had time to ride a couple of extra miles. I didn't quite get the average speed I was after but I did hammer out 10.5 miles.

See ya tomorrow for a short, quick ride.

What a day, I was so happy to have cooler weather to ride my bike this morning. The second day of Fall didn't disappoint. 65 degrees and a beautiful sunrise. I left in the dark with my little red light flashing as fast as it could so to give me some chance of not being run over. Happy to report that the red light was the victor. Back to the ride..

Got to spinning at 6:30 and was bummed to see all the traffic, I really don't think rush hour is ever over in this city. Tough conditions between the rough roads, pot holes, school buses and the soccer moms waiting for their Vicadin to kick in . Legs felt good on the bike and I was happy to be out in the cooler weather. I warmed up in the neighborhood and then decided that I would ride out by the Addison Airport.

I like the ride for the scenery and the difficulty. Addison Airport is known as the second busiest private airport in the world. Nice big jets headed to a beach or a meeting in some other state, cool stuff and a dream of mine for the future. Anyway, I don't yet have a hobby that deals with planes or 'copters so I will move on.

I really concentrated on not "burning" my legs and boy did it leave me with more juice for the pedals. My bud Chris says that "your legs should be like a blender" and it works like a charm.
This ride is a long slow climb which is killing my average speed, but it makes for a great workout.

The ride totals today: 8.7 miles with a 16 mph average
Tomorrows goals: 10 mile ride with a 17 average and now hills, please.

1st time

So, at face value this blogo seems very self serving/boring for others. Not my problem. This is a way for me to document things I like to do and you to keep up. Just think of following me as a way for you to live vicariously through yet another person....stop it and go do it yourself!

Class, today's topic will include dove hunting, shotguns, camping out and general S. Texas fun.

Last thursday pops in law left town on our annual dove hunting trip to Uvalde County TX. Uvalde is darn near in Mexico. Long trip, beautiful scenery, shotguns and telling lies to each. "These are a few of my favorite things"

Tomorrow, details of the hunt and the amazing trip to the Cowboy's circus.
